Tailwin helps a business or agency measure how it appears in AI answers, understand which pages AI crawlers read, improve content, track search performance, and report the results to clients.

These guides describe the product as it exists in the repository on 2026-09-02. A feature described as “available when connected” needs the named external account or credential. A dash or “not measured” message means Tailwin does not have evidence; it does not mean zero.

Start here

  1. Getting started: create an account, add a site, and run the first measurement.
  2. AI visibility and Signal: understand scans, scores, queries, citations, and answer changes.
  3. Rankings and SEO research: combine Search Console, Bing, Google SERPs, keyword research, and backlinks.
  4. AI crawler tracking: install the tracker and verify that server-side visits arrive.
  5. Content workflow: turn a measured gap into an approved, published, and re-measured page.
  6. Reports: connect data, build dashboards, share them, and schedule delivery.
  7. Chrome extension audits, prompts and chat: link the local development extension, review page evidence and explicitly approve model turns.

Product language

  • Organization: a secure workspace. Platform, partner, and client organizations can form a hierarchy.
  • Site: one domain being measured.
  • Query: a question or search phrase Tailwin tracks.
  • Scan: one run of a query across the AI engines allowed by the plan.
  • Observation: a timestamped fact with a source and provenance, such as a Google position or AI citation.
  • Source: an external account or native Tailwin data stream connected to Reports.
  • Measured: Tailwin received or recorded the fact from the named source.
  • Derived: Tailwin calculated the value from measured facts.
  • Unavailable: a required account, key, permission, or upstream result is missing.

What Tailwin deliberately does not claim

Tailwin does not guarantee rankings, citations, publication dates, crawler visits, or press placements. Labs keyword and domain figures are vendor estimates. Search Console figures describe traffic Google observed for the connected property. A direct SERP check describes the result Tailwin bought at that time and location. Those are different facts and remain labeled separately.

Developer and operator documentation is maintained separately and is not published on the customer documentation surface.
